A platform for diversity, activism and inclusion, with the purpose of tackling complex challenges and exploring unique opportunities that exist across Arab cities and towns.

Hamzet Wasel is a social venture that works to revive and enrich the social and cultural fabric of urban communities in the Arab region, beginning with Amman. We envision inclusive Arab cities where diverse, active, engaged and responsible citizens work together to build a sustainable future, deeply rooted in our rich cultural and social heritage, as equal partners in the development process.

At Hamzet Wasel, we connect people together and create, harness and launch new thinking processes for social, cultural and urban activism and inclusion. We invest in and incubate innovative ideas that accelerate social change and place diverse, active, engaged and responsible citizens at the heart of the development process. We build authentic relationships with members of urban communities and work with them to jointly create solutions that preserve and build on the human value of our neighborhoods and cities, and advocate for human-centric planning and development.

Underpinning all our efforts is a documentation process to record and preserve the stories of communities and cities, and the history of their people through writing, photography, filmmaking, blogs and social media.

همزة وصل و التي تأسست في 2009، هي شركة إجتماعية تعمل على إحياء وإثراء النسيج المجتمعي في مدن العالم العربي، نقطة إنطلاقنا كانت عمان وتوسعنا لنعمل في مدن أردنية أخرى. تشجع همزة وصل على العمل المجتمعي النشط المتنوع والدامج لكل أطياف المجتمع بهدف التصدي للتحديات و الكشف عن الفرص الفريدة الكامنة في المدن والمجتمعات التي نعمل فيها. من خلال همزة وصل نعمل على تشبيك الأفراد و المجتمعات وخلق بيئة قادرة على إطلاق أفكار و طرق تفكير جديدة تعبّرعن الأنشطة الإجتماعية والثقافية والحضرية. نستثمر في هذه الأفكار ونستضيف العقول النيرة التي ورائها وندعم أصحابها من أجل ضمان وجود هؤلاء الأشخاص الفاعلين في قلب عملية التنمية المجتمعية. نعمل جنبا الى جنب مع أفراد من المجتمعات المحلية لإيجاد حلول تحافظ على الإرث المجتمعي والحضاري لأحيائهم و نضم صوتنا الى أصوات المجتمع لإرشاد أصحاب القرار لما فيه مصلحة المجتمع في الأمور المتعلقة بالتخطيط والتطوير

بالإضافة لما سبق نقوم بتنظيم “تحديات إلإسكتشاف المدنية” للكبار والأطفال من المجتمع،  حيث نجمعهم في فرق شديدة التنوع لإكتشاف أماكن جديدة والتعرف على أشخاص جدد في مجتمعاتهم ومدنهم مما يساعدهم في التعرف على تراثهم الحضاري وواقع حالهم. نحرص دوما على توثيق جميع أنشطتنا لنحافظ قدر الإمكان على قصص المجتمعات والمدن وتاريخ الأشخاص القاطنين بداخلهم، ولإتمام ذلك ندوّن ونصور رقميا و من خلال الفيديو و المقالات ومختلف وسائل الإعلام المجتمعي
